Bush-hammered

The oldest natural stone processing technique

Bush-hammering is one of the oldest forms of rock impact processing. It is carried out by the “bocciarda”, a hammer with dense pyramidal points, with the ability to sculpt the surface of the rock.

It is a rather invasive process that subjects the material to high stress, therefore it is not possible to bush-hammer plates with a thickness of less than 3 cm.

On the chromatic level the differences are lessened, while the characteristic scratching of the surface reduces its slipperiness making the slabs particularly suitable for external walkable floors.
